Robert W. Sulak, age 32, of 319 E. Columbus, in West died Sunday morning, May 17, 1987 in an automobile accident near Penelope. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m. Monday in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel, West. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, West, with Msgr. Ray Widacki as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, West. Mr. Sulak was born May 5, 1955 in West and had lived in the West area all of his life where he went to West High School. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in West, SPJST Lodge 54, Catholic Life Society and the West Bass Club. Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John P. Sulak of Rt. 2, Abbott; two brothers, John R. and Edwin George Sulak, both of West; one sister, Mrs. Jerry (Elaine) Nors of West; his grandmother, Mrs. Annie Zahirniak of West; four nieces and four nephews. Pallbearers were Alvin Picha, Joe Zahirniak, Charlie Hutyra, Ricky Adams, Richard Hutyra and George Hanzlicek, Jr. The West News, West, Texas, Volume 97, No. 21, Edition 1, Thursday, May 21, 1987, page 7.
