Angeline Sawyer, age 74 of West, passed away November 18, 1998 at West Rest Haven. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. November 19 at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, by Rev. Ed Karasek. Mass of Christian Burial was at 2 p.m. November 20 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial followed at St. Mary's Cemetery near West. Mrs. Sawyer was born on May 25, 1924 in Tours, the daughter of Frank and Flora Jansky. She married Bobbly L. "Dusty" Sawyer on September 28, 1951 in West. He preceded her in death on September 22, 1991. She was a homemaker and operated her own private daycare in West for several years until she retired. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court No. 829 and K.J.Z.T. No. 31, both in West and worked as a volunteer for the West Senior Citizen Center. She was known for being willing to help others and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West She was also preceded in death by a brother Zefrin Jansky. She is survived by her son, Steve Sawyer and his wife, Bernice of West; one daughter, Beverly Eastwood of West; one sister, Celestine Podsednik of White Settlement; five grandchildren, Michael Sawyer of West, Ginger Ballew of China Spring, Tracy Eastwood, Candace Eastwood and Courtney Eastwood, all of West and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Buddy Webb, Ben Roy Hubenak, Jerry Merenda, David Jansky, Ricky Holland and David Holland. Honorary pallbearers were Ricky Podsednik, Randy Podsednik, Danny Podsednik, Greg Jansky and Donny Jansky. Aderhold Funeral Home in West was in charge of arrangements.
