Richard W. Nors, age 43, of West, passed away late Thursday afternoon, December 21, 1989, at West Community Hospital. A Rosary was recited Friday night at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 3 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery. He was born November 10, 1946, in Waco, the son of Pete and Lillie Mae Nors. He married Sharon Huggins on July 20, 1968. He owned and operated the Nors Bakery in West. He also was co-owner of the Ole Czech Smokehouse. He was a graduate of Penelope High School, where he was the salutatorian of his class. He also was an honor graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. He was a certified public accountant and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. Survivors include his wife, Sharon Nors of West; one son, Christopher Nors of West; one daughter, Lisa Nors of West; his parents, Pete and Lillie Ma Nors of Route 1, Mount Calm; his maternal grandmother, Annie Janek of West; one sister, Patricia Harlin of Schulenburg; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Harold Samuelson, Clarence Janek, Steve Harlin, Ernest Keel, Ronnie Pustejovsky, Ronnie Huggins, Bradley Samuelson, and Mike Hutyra. Honorary pallbearers were J.W. Krueger, James Harlin, Larry Biels, Patrick Svacina, and Chuck Huggins.
