Mrs. Annie Marek Dies Mrs. Annie Marek, pioneer resident of the Penelope community, died at her home near there on November 23rd, age 88 years. She was a native of Moravia, but had been a resident of this country for many years. Funeral services were held from the Catholic Church here at 9 a.m. Thursday, November 24, Rev. E.J. Polcak in charge. Interment was at the Catholic Cemetery here. Deceased leaves a large number of friends, both young and old, to mourn her passing. The West News, West, Texas, Volume 43, No. 27, Ed. 1 - Friday, December 2, 1932 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Annie was born in Verovice, Moravia. She was the daughter of Josef Marek and Maria Rosina Barton. She married Joe Marek on September 6, 1869 in Verovice.
