Irene M. (Kral) Kaska, age 74 of West, passed away Monday evening, October 2, 2000 at her residence. A rosary will be recited 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, by the Rev. Ed Karasek. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:15 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with the Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery near West. The family will receive visitors from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Kaska was born December 1, 1925 near West, the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth Kral. She lived in the West/Ross area all of her life. She married Alfons George Kaska, Sr. on November 9, 1943 in West. He preceded her in death on May 31, 1965. She was a homemaker and housewife. Irene was a member of K.J.Z.T. Society No. 11 in West and a lifetime member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Tracy Kral and Annie Jurek and one brother, Edwin Kral. She is survived by three sons, Ernest Kaska and his wife, Kay, Larry Kaska and wife Cathy and Alfons Kaska, Jr. and his wife Monica, all of West; one daughter, Debbie Massey and her husband Ken of West; two brothers, Alfons Kral and his wife Helen of Dallas and Dennis Kral and his wife Delores of Mesquite; one brother-in-law, Louis Jurek of Waco; one sister, Margaret Carlile of Waco; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Kral of Arlington; eight grandchildren, Laura Morgan, Richard Kaska, Shannon Kaska, Kim Woodard, Christle Walker, Carmen Walker, Michelle Kaska and Brian Kaska; 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Richard Kaska, Robert Morgan, Brian Kaska, David Woodard, Norman Hammons, Chris Klaus and Tanner Holecek. Aderhold Funeral Home in West is in charge of arrangements.
