Bio

Connie Joe Wylie, 71, of Bardwell, passed away early Thursday morning, April 16, 2009, at his home. He was born June 28, 1937, to J.B. and Francis (Lewis) Wylie. He married Carolyn Wilcox on April 10, 1981, in Red Oak. Connie retired from Owens Corning in 1994, after 31 years of employment. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Bardwell. Survivors include his loving wife of 28 years, Carolyn Wylie of Bardwell; three daughters, Teresa McDaniel, Sherri Miller and Joanne Wylie; six grandchildren, Zackary, Chance and Christa McDaniel, Summer, Cole and Hannah Miller; one brother, J. B. "Sonny" Wylie; and two sisters, Katie Muirhead and Sybil Townsend. Connie was preceded in death by his parents; and four sisters, Nellie Duke, Bertha Goodwin, Francis Worthy and Floy Sills. Graveside service and interment were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2009, at the Red Oak Cemetery. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2009, at the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home.
