Bio
Launa L. Purvis, of Stephenville, TX, a retired teacher, went home on Wednesday, January 24, 2006. She was born to William Phillip & Lovie (Malone) Fretwell on May 6, 1910, on a ranch outside of Comfort, Texas. She married Edgar Claude Purvis on May 15, 1971, in Ft. Worth, TX. She was a member of Rocky Point Baptist Church. She was a member of DRT, DAR, Eastern Star, and Texas Retired Teachers. She is survived by her sweetheart and husband, Edgar C. Purvis of Stephenville, TX; two daughters, Kathryn Riddle & husband, Jimmy of Ft. Worth, TX and Jacklyn Reynolds & husband, Dale of North Richland Hills, TX; one son, Billy Frank Sartor and wife, Barbara of San Antonio, TX; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She also is survived, because of who she was, by more people than can be counted or named. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Angeline Roberts, in 2004. When one is called to write a summary of a person's life to fit into a column of the newspaper you wonder what should be said about a person to be remembered forever. For Launa, that was easy. She was child of God dedicated to her Lord, wife dedicated to her husband, a mother dedicated to her children, grandmother dedicated to her grandchildren, friend dedicated to her friend, and a teacher dedicated to her students. Through the love she gave to all who knew her and who were her students, she will live for eternity in their hearts and the hearts of their children.
