O. D. Hall , 79, passed away early Saturday, November 7, 2009 with his family by his side. O. D. was born on December 24, 1929 to Odie and Hester (McKay) Hall in India, Texas. On July 29, 1950 He married Betty Dixon and they made their home in Ferris. He joined the United States Army in 1948 and followed it with the Air Force Reserves and began his career as a husband and father. He was a very dedicated husband, father, grandfather, father-in-law and employee. He was employed for twenty-five (plus) years with Ennis Steel. After retiring, he went back to work there and retired a second time. While he was at the IOOF Nursing Home he still thought he was going to work everyday. He enjoyed fishing. He is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Betty Jo Hall, of Ferris, Texas; daughter-in-law, Pam Hall, of Ferris, Texas; son-in-law, Larry Darden, and his wife, Carolyn, of Italy, Texas; granddaughter, Kelly Luoma, and fiancé, Allen Wiltse, of Arlington, Texas; grandson, Kyle Hall, of Ferris, Texas; two great-grandsons: Cody and Chase Luoma, of Ferris, along will other family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, Odie Dewey and Hester (McKay) Hall; son, Odie Duane Hall; daughter, Cara Ann Darden, and sister, Lois Allene Haisler. Pall bearers are: Cody Hall, Chase Hall, Kyle Hall, Allen Wiltse, Larry Darden, Wayne Woods, Rob Jones and Chad Bentley. Interment will follow at Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
