SUSAN SCANIO SCOTT, age 54, of Houston, Texas, formerly of Waco, died on Wednesday, April 24, 2002. Susan graduated from Reicher Catholic High School, Waco, Texas, in 1965. She attended Our Lady of The Lake College in San Antonio, Texas and also Vogue Beauty School in Waco. She became a Licensed Beauty Instructor and remained a licensed operator until her death. She loved music, country-western dancing, photography and crafts. Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Thomas J. Scanio and Wilma Lillian (Smajstrla) Scanio. She is survived by her daughters, Carlyn K. Scott of Garland, Texas and Monica Scott Kilpatrick of Waco, Texas; granddaughters Kimberly Sowders and Shelby Kilpatrick of Waco, Texas; grandson, Dwayne Sowders of Waco, Texas; sister, Sheila Biedermann and husband David of Austin, Texas; brother, Thomas J. Scanio Jr. and wife Susan of McKinney, Texas; she is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many close friends. A vigil service and visitation will be at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 29, 2002 at Cook-Walden Chapel of The Hills Funeral Home, Austin, Texas. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, April 30, 2002, 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Reverend Elmer Holtman officiating. Interment will follow at Austin Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Dwayne Sowders, Thomas Scanio, Jr., David Biedermann, David Zahirniak, Paul Biedermann and Thomas Suniga. Honorary pallbearers are John Biedermann, Alan Scanio and Travis Dye.
