SEDALIA, MO - Lucy Marvalee Cook was born Sept. 4, 1923 near Hughesville, daughter of Volney E. and Julia (Wasson) Gower. On Sept. 26, 1946 she married Wayne E. Cook, and he survives. Lucy died Sept. 27, 2008 of pancreatic cancer. She is survived by five children, three sons and two daughters. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Naomi Madden and Mary Anna Hall, and two brothers, Victor and Raymond Gower. - Sedalia Democrat - Monday, September 29, 2003 pg.2
