Jennings: A memorial service honoring the life of Leroy Ladis Pavlu, 84, will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Jennings, La on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 @ 10:00 AM with Deacon Ed McNalley officiating. Mr. Pavlu passed away Monday evening at the Acadia-St. Landry Hospital. Visitation will be held at the funeral home beginning on Tuesday, November 10th from 5:30 PM until 9:00 PM and will resume on Wednesday, November 11th at 8:00 AM until the time of his service. Mr. Pavlu will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery. Leroy Ladis was born in Kerrville, Texas to the late Ladis & Ledena Beal Pavlu during the summer of 1925. He serviced his country proudly in the United States Army during WW II. Leroy enjoyed spending his time hunting and gardening. He loved being outdoors. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Leaving behind to cherish is memory is his beloved wife, Aline Hebert Pavlu of Jennings; one son, Rev. Ricki Pavlu and wife Beverly of Church Point; one daughter, Carol O'Brien and husband Don of Leesville; one sister, Jolene Ferguson of Rosenberg, TX; and his four beautiful grandchildren, Paul Deaville II, Corrie Walton, Jared Pavlu, & Layna Lewis and four great grandchildren, Hudson & Graham Walton and Brenton & Ramsey Pavlu. Preceded in death by his parents, Ladis & Ledena Beal Pavlu; two brothers, Alfred & Julius Pavlu; and one sister, Clara Marek.
