Gerald G. Zalewski, departed this life and entered The Eternal Home on November 7, 2009, at Tiffany Square Care Center in Grand Island, Nebraska. Gerlad was 84 years of age having been born on February 22, 1925, in Howard County, near Elba, Nebraska to Magdalene (Curtis) and Edward Zalewski. Survivors are son and daughter-in-law, David and Anne Zalewski of North Platte, Nebraska; daughter, Deann McKinley of Columbia, Missouri; sister, Rose Marie Olsufka of Farwell, Nebraska; step-children and their spouses, Larry and Connie Tylkowski of Grand Island, Nebraska; Mark and Vicki Tylkowski of Aurora, Nebraska; Leo and Cathy Tylkowski of Grand Island, Nebraska; Roger Tylkowski of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Mike Tylkowski of Grand Island, Nebraska; Dan and Karen Hannon of Kearney, Nebraska; Jim and Katherine Hannon of Hastings, Nebraska; M. Pat and Kim Hannon of Shelton, Nebraska and Catherine and David Sharp of Iowa City, Iowa and a host of friends and relatives. Gerald grew up near Farwell, Nebraska and received his education at Farwell, Nebraska High School. He was united in marriage to Ellen Olsufka on April 16, 1947, in St. Paul, Nebraska. On November 5, 1985, he was united in marriage to Lorraine Tylkowski in Las Vegas, Nevada. Then, on October 30, 1999, he was united in marriage to Lois Hannon in Grand Island, Nebraska. Gerald was retired from the federal government as a meat inspector for 30 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Eagles, and the Elks Club all of Grand Island, Nebraska. He really enjoyed fishing, hunting, dancing, traveling, playing cards, dominoes and "dice." His greatest enjoyment was visiting with his family and friends. Gerald was welcomed into The Heavenly Home by his parents, Magdalene and Edward Zalewski; wives, Ellen Zalewski, Lorraine Zalewski, and Lois Zawelskiand two brothers.
