The funeral service for Jack Dandridge, 68, of 409 Chatfield, was held at 4 p.m. Friday in the Keever Chapel with the Rev. Joe Hixon and the Rev. J. C. Johnson of Waxahachie, officiating. Interment was in the Myrtle Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers: Curtis Thompson of Waxahachie, Willie Dodson and Obie Freeman, Barry Hughes, Sam Roberts and Royce Priddy. Mr. Dandridge died Wednesday in the Ennis Municipal Hospital. He was born March 1, 1907 in Ellis County, Bethel community, the son of J. T. and Emma Bettis Dandridge. He was reared there and attended school there. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II and after his return in 1945, he worked for Water Department of the City of Ennis, retiring in 1972. He was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church and Chism Landers Post of the American Legion. Surviving him are four sisters Miss Edna Dandridge, Mrs. Jim Hitchcock, both of Ennis; Mrs. Mattie Buchanan of Houston and Mrs. Everett Johnston of Dallas; and one brother Tommy Dandridge of Dallas.
