Bio

Funeral services were held Friday morning at Calvary Baptist Church for Mrs. Lula Ellen Stevens, who died February 11 at Hoemako Hospital. Interment was in Mountain View Cemetery. She is survived by her husband, Thurman C., a former city councilman and former manager of Sprouse-Reitz; a daughter, Mrs. Norma Rose, of Maricopa; son, Jim Stevens, of Casa Grande; five sisters: Mrs. W.L. Tillman, Mrs. Jim Edwards and Mrs. Edith McDaniel, all of Casa Grande, Mrs. Bob Comer, of Phoenix, and Mrs. Myrtle Hagler, of Post, TX; two brothers: Matthew, of San Diego, CA, and Albert, of TX; and five grandchildren. Mrs. Stevens was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and Casa Grande Chapter 28, Order of Eastern Star. A native of San Angelo, Texas, she had lived in Arizona for 26 years, and in Casa Grande for the past 19 years. Mrs. Jack Clements was the organist for the services.
