Minnie Kemp and her husband moved from Crawford Co., Indiana to Illinois in 1910. Obit: Newkirk, Minnie Kemp Died Aug 16, 1950, Chenoa, Illinois. Chenoa -(PNS)- Mrs Minnie Newkirk, 76 died at 9:45 P.M. Wednesday in her home in Chenoa. She had been ill for several months. The body was taken to the Easton Pils Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. (daylight) Saturday at the Chenoa Baptist Church. The Rev Art King will officiate. Burial will be in the Chenoa Cemetery. She was born July 21, 1874, in Crawford County, Indiana, daughter of G.B. and Merniva Wiseman Kemp. She was married to Marshal Newkirk Oct. 25, 1892. Crawford County Democrat Friday 22 September 1950 Minnie Kemp Newkirk Deuchars-- Minnie Melvina Kemp Newkirk, daughter of G. B. and Minerva Wiseman Kemp, was born here July 21, 1874, and died at her home at Chenoa, ILL, August 16, at the age of 76 years. She had been ill for several months. The family moved to Chenoa in 1914. She married Marshall Newkirk, October 6, 1892. To this union 11 children were born. Two daughters preceded her in death. At an early age she became a member of the Christian Church at Deuchars. Survivors are her husband; five daughters, Mrs. Bertha McCallum, Mrs. Lucy Malcom, of Chenoa; Mis. Goldie Runyon, of Casta Mesa, Calif; Mrs. Millie Hurtte, of Burbank, Calif., and Mrs.. Elva Fletcher, of Pekin, ILL; four sons, Jesse, Lee, Robert, and Wayne, of Chenoa; a sister, Mrs. Edna Ridge; 16 grandchildren and 7 grate-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday, August 19, at the Chenoa Baptist Church, with the Rev. Mr. King officiating. Burial was in the Chenoa Cemetery.
