Bio

James' place of death is unknown at this time. Closest guess is he died sometime after 1897 in the area of Bemidji, Beltrami County, MN. James was 1st married to a woman named Elizabeth and had 4 children: Mary, Lewis, Perry and Henrietta. Mary married A. J. Van Cleave in Vernon County, WI in 1866. Henrietta married Jacob Shafer in Louisa County, Iowa in 1872. Lewis died before 1860. James' second wife was Manerva Goff. James came to Wisconsin to purchase land in 1855. Met Manerva and married her. They had nine children together.
