Bio

Theodore E. Osten, 82 of Route 1, Columbus, died Friday, 2/24/1989 at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha. Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Lutheran Church 14 miles north of Columbus, with the Rev. Paul Bradley Rick officiating. The church service will be preceded by a family payer service at 10:15 a.m. Burial will in St. John's Cemetery. Mr. Osten was born 6/7/1906, in Platte County near Creston, the son of Louis and Helena (Janssen) Osten. He attended St. John's School. Mrs. Osten married Marcella Kapels 11/1/1938 at St. John's Lutheran Church. He was a farmer. Surviving are five children, Duane, Arlene (David) Blessen, Ardith (Robert) Behlen, Darrel and Dennis all of Columbus, 13 grandchildren; two brothers, Ernest and Werner, both of Columbus and one sister, Elsa Hellbusch of Creston. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1972, and one borther Arthur. The family suggests memorials to St. John's School Building Fund.
