Lorence Burkey Obit Lorence Burkey, 74, Seward, died Thursday, June 15, 1995, at Seward. He was born Feb. 9, 1921, near Milford to Arthur and Amanda (Stutzman) Burkey. On Jan. 19, 1946, he married Floy Myers at McPherson, Kan. He was preceded in death by his son, Lloyd. Survivors include his wife, Floy Burkey, Seward; son and daughter-law, Verlin and Debbie Burkey, Lincoln; brothers and sisters-in-law, Perry and Teresa Burkey, Hesston, Kan., and Marlin and Margie Burkey, Seward; sisters and brothers-in-law, Alda and Lloyd Swartzendruber, Kalona, Iowa, Verda and Clayton White, Kalona, Iowa, Loretta and Roy Wolfer, Utica, and LeAnn and Eldon Miller, York; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Monday, June 19, at Hillcrest Evangelical Free Church, Seward, with the Rev. Lowell Myers officiating. Casket bearers were Gary Miller, Brad Burkey, Van Burkey, Terry Wolfer, Dan Wolfer and Carrol Eberspacher. Burial was at Pleasant View Cemetery, Milford.
