James Otas was the son of James William and Bettie Jane Haney Franklin. He died from Typhoid Fever. James and Bettie are buried at Lamesa Memorial cemetery in Lamesa, Dawson County, Texas. Otas and Dorothy had 2 daughters: Atha Auressa (Ress) Franklin Jeffers Reasoner. Ress is buried at Anahuac Cemetery in Chambers Co. TX Bettie Jane Franklin Harvey. She is buried at Lehrton Cemetery in Ruleville, Sunflower, MS.
