Bio
Hazel Evalena Pavlu, went to be with her heavenly father on October 3rd, 2009. She was born March 15, 1927 to the late Okey and Nettie Dean in Agra, Oklahoma. After graduating from high school, she joined the United States Air Force where she met and married her husband, Lt. Colonel Gerard Pavlu on March 21, 1955. She was a devoted Air Force wife who followed her husband as he served in different areas of service. Her true love and joy was her family and helping others (anonymously). She was the most generous person and had a wonderful and giving heart. After her children were grown and married, she enjoyed her new life with her grandchildren in spoiling and loving them. She left behind her husband, Gerard W. Pavlu, sons Michael Gerard Pavlu and wife Norma and Mark Anthony Pavlu and wife Shelia, daughter Michele Renee Merritt and husband David, her precious grandchildren, Chase Pavlu, Cassandra Pavlu, Chad Pavlu, Kaeri Beth Pavlu, great grandson, James, and the many friends that she has made throughout the years. Not only were we blessed to have her in our lives, but it was an honor. Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Griffin Leggett Funeral home, followed by burial at Thorn Cemetery in Greenbrier. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 1751 Dave Ward Dr., Conway, AR 72034, 501-327-5000.
