Emma Jean Barlow Branigan, 94, of Albin died July 3 at Life Care of Cheyenne. She was born Dec. 18, 1905, in Kenton, Ohio. She had lived in Albin since 1936 with prior residence in Scottsbluff and Kearney, Neb. She graduated from high school in Kearney, and attended Kearney Teachers College. Mrs. Branigan had been a school teacher and a housewife. She married Edwin Branigan on April 5, 1929, in North Platte, Neb. She was a member of the Pine Bluffs Methodist Church, a 60-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Kearney, Neb., and a 25-year member of Daughters of the American Revolution in Cheyenne. Mrs. Branigan is survived by one son, David C. Branigan of Albin; brother, Robert Barlow of Grand Island, Neb.; sisters, Mary Altmaier of Kearney and Dorothy Eifert of Norfolk, Neb.; two grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Branigan in 1969; her parents, Jesse Scott and Beatrice (Browning Haines) Barlow; three brothers; and one sister. © Wyoming Tribune Eagle July 4, 2000
