Pike, an associate, in Suffolk Va. according to news communicated to his relatives shortly before noon. The shooting was supposed to have occurred on construction work in the Virginia city where both the men were employed. Both were from Greensboro, employed by a contractor who has the Virginia work, it was understood, and both had families here. The victim of the shooting was the son of Mr. E. F. Paschal, a justice of the peace of the county, whose home is on West Lee Street. He was married, and his wife resides in the southwestern part of the city, on Haywood street. There are no children...This morning the message was brief and devoid of details. The cause of the shooting is unknown, although a suggestion was hazarded that Mr. Pike may have been mentally unbalanced.
