John Pecha was born in the town of Rakova, Czechoslovakia, which in 1990 became the Czech Republic. He married Rosalie Stalmach, at the Wesley Church, in Wesley, Texas on January 24, 1883, He and Roslie were the parents of five known children. Their daughter Rosa Cermak raised her family in Houston County. Rosa was the sister of: John Jr, Joe, Francis, and Annie. John's second wife was Anna Lednicky. They married in 1894, when her son Johnny was a few months old, they were the parents of Mary & Terza, also. It was his request that the family bury him beside his beloved Anna. On July 11, 1913, John married Emilie Coufal Surovik . Emilie did not like living in the country, so John took his new wife to Houston, where he ran a tobacco store at 605 70th Street. Shortly after Emilie's death, John married Minnie. He and Minnie were living at 605 70th Street in Houston at the time of his death. John still owned several hundred acres in Houston County, when he passed away.
