Ike DEATON Funeral for Isaac N. (Ike) DEATON, 80, of Rt. 5, a retired bus driver who died at 5:15 p.m. Sunday at West Texas Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Elliott-Hamil Chapel of Memories. The Rev. Temple LEWIS, a retired Baptist minister, will officiate, assisted by nephew Robert HEIMAN. Burial will be in Elmwood Memorial Gardens. The family has asked that remembrances be in the form of donations to the West Texas Rehabilitation Center. Born July 12, 1893, at Sulphur Springs, Mr. DEATON grew up in East Texas and lived there about 40 years before moving west. He married Annie THOMAS July 1, 1936 in Abilene. Mr. DEATON drove for Southwest Coaches for 40 years, retiring in 1956. He was a Baptist. Survivors are his wife; two sons, Carl of Waynesville, Mo., and Edmund of San Diego, Calif; four grandchildren; and five brothers, Odis and Ollie, both of Fort Worth, T. C. of Dallas, David of Kansas City, Mo., and Arlis of Houston. One brother Troy preceded him in death. The family will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John CRAVENS, 2450 Maple. Pallbearers will be J. W. SMITH, George T. McNIEL, Denton WILSON, Randolph SCARBOROUGH, Eldon UNDERWOOD and E. H. CLEMENTS. Abilene Reporter-News (Abilene, TX) - Monday October 8, 1973
