Dorothy Marie Dearing, 76, of Madison Missouri, passed away Monday, October 19, 2009 at Moberly Regional Medical Center, Moberly, Missouri. Mrs. Dearing was born on November 29, 1932 at Middle Grove Missouri, the daughter of Emmett Riley and Erma Lee Smiley Riley. She married Harry D. Dearing on April 1, 1950 in Higbee Missouri. He survives at the home. She and her husband began owning and operating the IGA grocery store in Madison Missouri in 1958 and did so for 39-plus years. She was a member of the Madison Christian Church and a past member of Eastern Star and the Madison Business Association, both in Madison Missouri. Mrs. Dearing is survived by her husband; three daughters; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two brothers, one sister, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, James Travis and Harry Clayton Riley. Funeral services were at the Madison Community Center Madison Missouri with the Rev. Larry Allen Thomas officiating. Burial was in the Higbee City Cemetery, Higbee Missouri. Agnew Funeral Home of Paris Missouri is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Madison Commnity Center, Madison Missouri.
