The Benton Courier, Tuesday, October 20, 2009 Nettie A. Lasley, 97, of Benton died Monday, Oct. 19, 2009. She was born Jan. 16, 1912, in Saline County. Mrs. Lasley was the former owner and operator of Mom's Restaurant in Oklahoma and a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Nora Sutton; two husbands, Sam Peterson and Rohl Lasley Jr.; a brother, Hardy Sutton; and three sisters, Bessie Keene, Mittie Fagan and Martha Kiethly. Survivors include a daughter, Erna V. Rea of Benton; a grandson, Fayne W. Wilson Jr. of Garden Grove, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ashby Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery. Nettie Aravalene Sutton was a daughter of Jasper Newton Sutton (1874-1930) and Emily LeNora Brown ( 1874-1946) who were married October 9, 1904. Her siblings were: Bessie Jewel, Jasper Hardy, Mittie Avalene and Martha. Nettie married twice. Her first husband was Samuel Thomas Peterson (1908-1985) whom she married Nov. 17, 1929 in AR.
