Funeral services for Lois Estelle Kovar, 79, formerly of Damon, Texas, was at the Chapel of Garmany and Carden Funeral Directors, 3103 School St. in Needville, Texas, with Pastor Roy Smith officiating. Interment follows in Damon Public Cemetery in Damon. Lois was born Nov. 3, 1929, in Snook, Texas, to James Little and Irene Garner Little. She passed away Friday, Nov. 28, 2008, in Richmond, Texas. She was a loving housewife for many years before her employment with Richmond State School where she retired after many years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Clement Kovar. Lois was a loving mother of six children who survive her: Betty Gibson and husband, Howard, of Fort Worth, Dorothy Griffin and husband, James, of Needville, Clement Kovar of Guy, Barbara Hand and husband, Carl, of Richmond, David Kovar and wife, Viola, of Rosenberg, and Calvin Kovar of Oklahoma City; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
