Bio

Funeral Services for Henry Sellhorst. 81, of Howells, was held at 9:30 am, Friday, January 2, at Humlleck Funeral Home and at 10:00 am at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Howells, with Rev. William Whelan officiating. Thursday visitation hours at the funeral home were 10:30 am to noon and 2-9 pm., with rosary services at 7:30 and 8 pm. Burial was at Olean Sacred Heart Cemetery. The retired Howells businessman died Tuesday in the West Point Hospital. He had been a resident of Parkview Rest Home, Dodge, since 1973. He was born April 10, 1894 to Arnold and Caroline (Lennemann) Sellhorst of rural Dodge, Henry attended rural school and Olean Sacred Heart School. He married Mary Kathrine Hergenroder at Snyder and farmed near Dodge and Howells. After 1947, he operated a tavern and bowling alley in Howells. He is survived by a son, Francis of Howells; a daughter, Mrs. Elmer (Rose Marie) Pribnow of Clarkson; six grandchildren; one brother, Theodore of Dodge; three sisters, Kate of West Point, Mrs. Margaret Kleffner of Beemer and Ann of Omaha. Preceding him in death were his wife, 1924, one brother and one sister.
