Uvalde Leader News February 16, 2009 LEORA McDONALD Leora Modell Little McDonald died Feb. 10, 2009, in Uvalde at the age of 95. She was born on July 5, 1913 in Brady to Robert Clem Little and Zeima Lillian Cottle Little. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Herbert L. McDonald; two infant sons, Clay and Ray McDonald; one daughter, Gloria Von McDonald Vernor; one grandson, Daniel Lee McDonald; and one brother, Buel Boyd Little. She is survived by two sons, Delburt L. McDonald and wife, Debbie, of Weslaco and Wayne Douglas McDonald of Montell; one son-in-law, Milburn Ray Vernor of Uvalde; five grandchildren, David Lynn McDonald of Los Angeles, Calif., Brenda Rae Vernor McCurdy of Crystal City, Bonny Elaine Vernor Herndon of Uvalde, Anthony Travis Vernor and wife, Velvet, of D'Hanis and Wayne Douglas McDonald II and wife, Katie, of Victoria; 11 great-grandchildren, Jesse Jerome Baxter of Crystal City, Cody Rae McCurdy Esser and husband, Walter Earl Esser of Uvalde, Mistie Dawn Herndon of San Antonio, Victoria Lauren Herndon, George Ray Herndon, and Marjorie Von Herndon of Uvalde, Rankin Colt Bell, Laramie Ann Vernor and Lexie Sage Vernor of D'Hanis and Jacob Wayne McDonald of Victoria; two great great-grandchildren, Kaylea Gwen and Emily Madisyn Esser of Uvalde; and numerous nephews and nieces. Funeral services were held yesterday at 4:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Camp Wood with Wayne McDonald officiating. Interment followed in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Camp Wood. Arrangements by Nelson Funeral Home of Camp Wood.
