Bio
Emil Frank Slovak, age 83 of Garland, TX, passed away October 5, 2009. He was born January 8, 1926, in Ennis, TX, to Joe and Louise (Jurik) Slovak. Emil lived in Garland for 30 years and was a faithful member of St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Church. He was dedicated to his family and loved spending time with them. He was a great machinist and enjoyed drawing floor plans, boxing, western movies and listening to Czech music on Sundays. Emil retired after 38 successful years as an insurance agent. He formed Lodge 153 of RVOS Insurance Company in 1968 and was a founding member of Lodge 111 of KJT. He was also a member of S.P.J.S.T. and WFLA. Emil is survived by his children: Ervin Slovak and wife Pamela, and Janet Hale and husband Bob Jr. all of Rockwall, TX; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, six sisters and six brothers, his wife Mildred Slovak, and his children Melvin Slovak and Renee Slovak. Funeral services will be held 10:00am Friday, October 9, 2009, at Sacred Heart Mausoleum Chapel. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rowlett Chapel on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00pm with a rosary at 7:00pm
