Bio

Funeral for Oren Paschall Blair, 85, was held at the First Methodist Church at 3 p. m. Saturday, with the pastor, the Rev. Ray Copeland officiating, assisted by the Rev. James McKee, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Mr. Blair died at 6:40 a. m. Friday in Roland Nursing Home in Loraine, after a long illness. Born in Montague County on June 27, 1882, he married Bertie Bennett in Hico December 20, 1905. They came to Mitchell County in 1906. Mrs. Blair died in 1936. One daughter, Juanita also preceded him in death in 1933. In 1943, he married Mrs. Nannie Pylant in Midland. He was a member of First Methodist church here, and was a retired farmer. Survivors include his wife of Loraine; four sons, Bennett and Dual Blair, both of Loraine, T. J. of Stanton and Melvin of Colorado City; three daughters, Mrs. Moody Richardson of Loraine, Mrs. Joe Glass of Slaton and Mrs. Ed Williams of Monahans; one brother, Virge Blair of Denver, Colorado; one sister, Mrs. Grace Skeen of Seaside, California; three stepchildren, Thurmon Pylant of Midland, V. T. Pylant of California, and Mrs. George Hughes of Blanket. Pallbearers were grandsons: Richard, Billy, Larry, Ronnie and Tommie Blair, Lowell Richardson, Gary Willmon and Garland Narrell. Burial was In Loraine Cemetery under direction of Kiker & Son Funeral Home.
