Bio

Doyt was born October 29, 1909 in Bellaire, Ill. Doyt has lived in Taft for 62 years and passed away October 2, 2009 at his home with his loved ones by his side. Viewing will be Friday October 9th from 9am to 11am. Funeral will be held Friday October 9th at 11am. Both will be held at Taft Funeral Home. Doyt was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Cora Bell Ault, and wife of 63 years ImoGene (Galey). His survivors include spouse, Ida Ault, son's Ron and Jerry Ault, daughter-in-laws Molly & Karen, and 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Doyt was a farmer until 1935, then a woodworker for Allis Chalmers in La Porte, Indiana, then a tool & dye machinist at Bendix. Doyt moved to Taft from Indiana in 1947 and retired in 1970 as a 1st class machinist from Chevron. Doyt was a member of First Baptist Church for 62 years. He served as a Deacon and especially loved being an usher and a member of the senior singers. He will miss his friends at the Senior Nutrition Center who made the fulfillment of his years some of the happiest. A special thanks to all at Hospice for their kindness and to Kitty Shinn for being his special angel.
