+ Wilbert J. Bernstrauch WENDELL — Wilbert J. Bernstrauch, 52, of Wendell, died Sunday at the VA hospital in Boise of natural causes. He was born Feb. 16, 1928 at Norfolk, Neb. He was reared and educated there. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Returning to Nebraska he married Janice Lee Overman at Valentine, Neb., July 19, 1954. They lived in Wyoming for 13. years where he worked as a welder before moving to the Wendell area in 1967 where he owned and operated a farm. He was a member of the American Legion Post 41 of Wendell. Survivors include his wife of Wendell; four sons, John Bernstrauch of Shoshone, Rick Bernstrauch of Mountain Home, Norman and Steven Bernstrauch, both of Wendell; one daughter, Laura Ann Bernstrauch of Wendell; three brothers, Wallace Bernstrauch of Holdrege, Neb., William Bernstrauch of Norfolk, Neb., and David Bernstrauch of Kenesaw, Neb.; five sisters, Mildred Biggers of Twin Falls, Dorothy Donner of Harvard, Neb., Letha Metz of Hastings, Neb., Ruby Vyhlidal of Norfolk, and Shirley Klimek of Luke City, Neb.; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Demaray's Leeper Chapel in Wendell by Rev. David Kribbs.
