Margaret Jean Martin was born March 19, 1933, in Veal Station, the youngest of 15 children to the late J.E. Elmo and Clara Cross Martin. Margaret was a longtime member of Silver Creek United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. She was also very active in United Methodist Women and spent many hours quilting with them.
