Bio

Okey was the son of Okey Monroe and Callie Mae Burnett Meade. He married Eunice Wigham Sept 3, 1942 in Mulberry Polk, Florida. After their divorce he married my mother, Dixie Juanita Moore, Dec. 6, 1947 in Henry, Georgia. He married Ethel Meade about 1956. "Mr. Okey M. Meade Jr., 76, Ocklawaha, Florida, died on September 21, 2000 in his home. He was born in Mulberry on August 12, 1922 and was a millright with Local 1000 in Tampa. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Meade. Survivors include his daughter, Sharon Smith of Houston, Texas, a step-daughter, Elizabeth Dixon of Chasisks, Minn, a a nephew, Kevin Spivey of Tampa, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 10 a. m. at graveside in Fitzgerald Cemetary. A. M. Seigler Funeral Home in Mulberry had arrangements and visitation Monday from 6 to 8 p.m."
