Published in Columbus Ledger-Enquirer on October 2, 2009 Mae Thomason Weir was born on December 16, 1937. She passed away at her home, after a long illness with cancer, Thursday, October 1, 2009. She was 71 years old. Mae was the 2nd born of 9 siblings and was the oldest daughter. She was preceded in death by her father, John W. Thomason; mother Ora Forrest Thomason; and one brother Jerry Thomason. She is survived by her husband, Dave Weir; two daughters, Deborah Gallion and Kathy Terry; five brothers, John and Eleanor Thomason, Carl and Eva Thomason, James and Jean Thomason, Lee and Sharon Thomason, and Steve and Marsha Thomason; two sisters, Lucy and David McGee and Betty and Larry Campbell; dearly beloved twin girls, Haley and Kennedy McDonald, who have been a special part of her life for the past 5 years; and more than 40 nieces and nephews and their children. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. EST Saturday, October 3, 2009 at Vance Memorial Chapel with Rev. Wayne Burns officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. EST Friday at the funeral home.
