Funeral services for Jessie Lee Eastepp, 90, of Lufkin and Cleveland, Texas, were held Friday, October 2, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Archie Smith officiating. Interment followed in the East Prairie/Possum Walk Cemetery in Trinity County. Mrs. Eastepp was born August 31, 1919, in Cleveland, Texas, to the late Margarette Jessie (Carson) and Albert Eugene Franklin. She died Monday, September 28, 2009, in a Lufkin nursing facility. Mrs. Eastepp had resided in Lufkin for the past 18 years, and previously lived in Cleveland for 60 years. She was a homemaker and a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Eastepp was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Cindy Eastepp of Lufkin; grandson and wife, Justin and Terri Eastepp of Nacogdoches; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Howard and Sybil Eastepp of Pennington, Mac and Peggy Eastepp of Lovelady, Norman and Zelda Eastepp of Pennington, Margie Faye Eastepp of Cleveland, Eula Mae Reynolds of Possum Walk, and Annis Eastepp of Livingston; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Mrs. Eastepp was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Carl Eastepp, six brothers, and one sister. Pallbearers were Vernon Eastepp, Kevin Eastepp, Kelly Wars, Keith Eastepp, Billy Stovall, Jason Steel and Ronnie Hughes. The family would like to express special thanks to Castle Pines and Parkwood Assisted Living for the special care given to "Miss Jessie."
