(Jim) Barton on March 21st at 4 o'clock a.m., after more than a weeks illness. Funeral services were held in the home of Mr. and Mrs. R.A. Parker, with whom he made his home, on Tuesday by Elder G.E. Rushing. The remains were laid to rest in the Leagueville cemetery. "Uncle Jim", as he was known to his many friends, was born October 28, 1851 at Banner, Mississippi. He was married to Emily C. Grissom on February 7, 1875. Of the ten children born to this union, only five of them are now living. His wife has been dead three years. Those who survive are five daughters: Mrs. Ada Hatton, Mrs. Nora Barkley and Mrs. Florence Parker of this place; Mrs. Emma Gideon of LaRue and Mrs. Lila Bryant of Dawson, Texas.
