Bio
J.R. Browder, 84, of Amarillo, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road, with Ira Purdy of High Plains Children's Home and Myron Pratt of Fairlane Church of Christ officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Browder moved to Amarillo in 1957 from Turkey. He retired from the post office after 26 years. He was a member and elder of Fairlane Church of Christ. He married Mae Love in 1938 at Childress. Survivors include his wife; a son, Bobby Browder and wife, Cheryl, of Amarillo; a brother, Bill Browder of Amarillo; two grandchildren, Sandy Dunlap and husband, Shane, and Dusty Browder, all of Amarillo; and a great-grandson, Jacob of Amarillo. The family suggests memorials be to Fairlane Church of Christ, 6401 Irvin Road, Amarillo, TX 79108. Amarillo Globe-News, Jan. 1, 2002
