Son of David B. Ballard and Martha Noell. Married Josephine Isabell Turner, 4 April 1884, Terrell, Kaufman Co., Texas. They were the parents of Samuel Goebel, Addie Martha, Barney Gibbs, Estelle, Jimmy Ballard, and an infant son and infant daughter. Death certificate has he was buried at Grove Hill Cemetery.
