Rites Held Saturday For Bernard Placzek, 19, Duncan Youth Funeral services for Bernard Placzek, 19, son of Mr. & Mrs. Joseph Placzek, who reside six miles northwest of Duncan, who died of a brain abscess at 11 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's hospital in Rochester, MI, will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Stanislaus Church in Duncan. Rev. George Mikulaki, pastor will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery. The body is lying in sate at the Gahan Funeral home, and will be taken to the family home tomorrow evening where it will be in state until the hour of the service. Bernard was born in Loup City, Feb 11, 1923 and moved with his family to Duncan shortly after. He attended school district #37 and St. Stanislaus parochial school. Since that time he had assisted his father with the farm work. He was a member of St. Anthony's society of St. Stanislaus Church. Taken ill Monday, April 6, Bernard was taken to Rochester the following Saturday by his father and his sister, Sylvia, of Omaha, who were with him at the time of death. Besides his parents, he leaves six sisters, Mrs. Frank A Kuta of Columbus, Misses, Anne and Carol, both of Los Angeles and Miss Sophia at home and three brothers, Martin, Sylvester and Joseph, Jr. all at home.
