Bio

Mr. Aden 'Jack' Cooper--Founder of Prudential Cooper & Co. Inc., REALTORS, died Sunday, August 3, 2003 at his home. Born July 29, 1916, Jack was a native of Robertsdale, Alabama and longtime resident of Mobile. Jack joined the Merchant Marines at age 16 where he sailed for Waterman Steam Ship Company. During World War II, his ships dispatched troops along the beaches of Normandy on the D-Day invasion. After a successful 20-year career in real estate in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Jack moved to Mobile in 1969 where he founded Cooper & Co. Inc., REALTORS. Under his leadership, the company grew from only 5 associates to over 160 agents and 7 offices in Mobile and Baldwin County and is considered by many to be the top real estate company in the area. The people in his company became his extended family. His genuine concern for them and desire for their success made him much loved by everyone who worked for him. His enthusiasm for life and his love for all people made him a role model for all who knew him. Jack attended Cottage Hill Baptist Church, was a member of the Mobile Area Association of Realtors, the Home Builders Association of Metro Mobile and other state and national real estate organizations. An avid fisherman and hunter, he approached the sports world with the same desire and determination he had for his real estate career. Jack was an international award winning bill fisherman and an accomplished hunter. Jack was a loving and devoted family man and will be sadly missed by his family and many friends. Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Louis Aden Cooper and Bernice Bargineer Cooper, his brother, John Cooper, sister, Eula 'Boots' Shepard, sister, Ruby Steiner, sister, Edna Carter, and son-in-law, Jim Waltman. Cooper, four children, daughter, Sandra Cooper Waltman, son, Anthony Aden Cooper (Sue), daughter, Lynnell Cooper Morrow (Ron), daughter, Sheree Cooper Dees (Mike).
