James Daniel's daughter, Margaret Ann (Daniel) Rice can be seen on the 1910 census already a widow living with James R Daniel in Daviess Co MO. In the 1900 census for Daviess Co MO James R Daniel and wife Penelope listed '10 living kids' but the ones at home were: William A Daniel 1869 Margaret Ann Daniel* Oct 1875 not living at home but married enumerated as wife of Denniece Rice b Dec 1877 (it was written over, should be Dennis. She was a 35 yr old widow with 5 kids living with her father James R Daniel in the 1910 census) Henry Daniel 1878 Sanford Daniel 1881 Sidney F Daniel 1883 Maude L Daniel 1884 Dennis Delmar Rice was the son of George W. Rice b. 24 Jan 1838 IL died 6 Aug 1893 MO, and his wife Candace Margaret Dilley (1836-1916) who married in 1859. (Missouri Marriage Records) In 1900 Dennis Rice, listed as born Dec 1877, was in Benton, Daviess, MO with wife Margaret A with daughters Ines S and Della A. Asenath Adelaide Duley married Dennis Delmar Rice 13 Sep 1904 in Daviess MO. (Missouri Marriage Records) In 1910 Dennis D Rice, listed as born 1880 in Missouri, parents born OH, was farming at Arcade, Phillips, Kansas, wife Ascenath A. Rice, three children, ages 9, 4, and 5 months. It was a second marriage for both. The younger two were born in KS, the eldest in MO. The 9 year old seems to be Lucien Berry, son of her first marriage. In 1918 Dennis Delmar Rice, listed as born 1 Apr 1880 in MO, was a farmer at Speed, Phillips, Kansas; nearest relative: Aseneth Rice In 1920 they were in Solomon, Phillips, Kansas (Ancestry indexed as Dan and Asthera Rice). In 1930 Dennis E Rice, born 1880 and wife Asenath A were in Liberty, Woodson, KS. Dennis D. Rice is listed on Find A Grave as buried in Moran Cemetery, Moran, Allen, KS. Dates are 1876 and 1936. -------- It looks as though Dennis and Margaret divorced about 1903-1904....perhaps court records could be found.
