Raymond E. Hendren Jr. Moberly Monitor-Index and Evening Democrat newspaper Moberly, Randolph, MO May 13, 1996 Extracted from Little Dixie Library, Moberly, MO Raymond E. Hendren, Jr. of Jacksonville, died at his home Sunday, May 12. He had been in failing health. He was born in Moberly on September 27, 1929, the son of the late Raymond E. Hendren, Sr. and Frances Amy Prather Hendren. Mr. Hendren served his country during the Korean conflict and was employed by the Missouri Department of Corrections at Moberly Training Center for Men for 21 years before retiring in January of 1988. A member of the Woodville Baptist Church he had lived most of his life on a farm east of Jacksonville. He and Betty Halliburton of Clark were married November 11, 1950 in Harrison, AR. She survives of the home. Other survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, daughter and friend, daughter and son-in-law, daughter and son-in-law, and daughter, 2 brothers, five sisters, 30 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and infant daughter Barbara Bernice Hendren, and infant son, David Joe Hendren, a son-in-law, Richard Cornick, infant brothers, Charles Wayne and Harold Floyd Hendren. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Million-Taylor-Patton Funeral Home in Moberly with Rev. Jimmy R. Hendren and Rev. Vernon McGarvey officiating. Visitation will be Monday 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Felps Chapel Cemetery with military graveside honors conducted by the Moberly VFW Post No. 2654. The family suggest memorials to the American Cancer Society.
