Greensboro News & Record (NC) - Tuesday, January 28, 1992 WINSTON-SALEM - Dr. Philip Bibb Davis, 89, of Arbor Acres Triad United Methodist Home died Monday at Fitzgerald Health Care. Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, of which he was a member. Burial will be in Groometown United Methodist Church cemetery in Groometown. A native of Groometown, he was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and of Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. He was an Army Medical Corps veteran, a retired physician having practiced in High Point, past president of the Guilford County Medical Society, a member of the State and National Medical Societies, a member of the American College of Surgeons, and a past president of the American Business Club. He was a member of Piedmont Lodge 681 AF & AM, a member of the Mercury Athletic Club, of Emerywood Country Club, the String and Splinter Club and was one of the organizers of the Red Cross Bloodmobile. Surviving are wife, Mrs. Betsey Durland Davis; daughter, Mrs. Betsey Hathaway of High Point; sons, Philip B. Davis Jr. of Waynesville, James Lee Davis of New Bern; brother, Glenn Davis of Winston-Salem; six grandchildren. The family will be at the home of his daughter, 1801 W. Lexington Ave. Memorial contributions may be made to the Music Ministry at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, 1225 Chestnut Drive, High Point, N.C. 27262.
