Bio

William George Thomas Garrett Sr. : Was my Great Great Grandfather who was born at Upson County Georgia on Feb. 18, 1827. He lived on a small plantation with his wife Martha Hobbs Garrett and there four children Mary, WGT Jr , Matthew Soloman , John James. Sometime In the mid 1800 Martha died and William Sr. Married Mary A.F. Smith And they moved to Alabama Around Talladega County, they had one child Francis Garrett. In August of 1861 William Joined the Confederate Army. In mid August He left with his Company to Huntsville Alabama from there they headed East to Richmond Virginia on foot. Along the way they met some northern resistance . In early November 1861 Company G 14th Alabama Infantry arrived in the Confederate Capitol Richmond Virginia. upon arriving It is thought William Was Ill with a unknown illness. On March 28, 1862 William Died of the illness and was Buried in Hollywood Cemetery, Garden B lot 98 No headstone was set.
