Willie Mae Gerik, 95, of Temple, Texas, formerly of Waco, died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009, in a Temple hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 18, at St. Luke Catholic Church with the Rev. Justin Nguyen officiating. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Friday at St. Mary's Cemetery in Penelope, Texas. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Scanio-Harper Funeral Home in Temple. Willie Mae was born in Hill County, Texas, to the late G.J. and Hattie Webb Johnson. She married J.M. "Mutt" McCollum, and he died in 1961. She then married Ernest Gerik, who died in 1989. She was a member of the Catholic Church and was a homemaker. She was also preceded in death by brothers, R. L. Johnson and Joe Johnson. Survivors include daughter, Bonnie Moeller, of Temple; son, Rodney Gerik, of Georgetown; grandchildren, Tanya Gerik and Denise Burum; great-grandsons, Josh Burum and Andrew Burum; and great-great-granddaughter, Emery Burum.
