Most likely her parents were Andrew Jackson Rhoads and Mahala Jones.... Daniel Rhoads 57 Julia Ann 20 John L 19 Margaret L 17 Amanada 14 Laura A 12 Thomas A 10 Lilly Jane 8 Wife of Abraham Houghland Jr.... Her actual full name is Julia Anna Rhoads, relative of Daniel Boone Rhoads. NOTE: Information conflict: In the Opal Philips book compiled from Bibles brought in to her by Warrick Co., Indiana people to be copied the "Rhoads Bible: Aunt Ona Pace" and the tombstone of Daniel Rhoads at Baker Cemetery, Warrick Co., IN both give the birthdate of Daniel Rhoads (married Sally "Sarah" Hudspeth) as the year 1812. This cannot be possible because that Daniel Rhoads was listed in the Knox County, Indiana Territory 1811 will of his father, Daniel Rhoads. See Muhlenberg County, Kentucky Court House Records for this will. (I have a copy of the will. You cannot be mentioned by name in a will if you are not yet born! - Virginia Rhoades. Therefore, Andrew J. Rhoads was born in 1812. The 1850 census of Warrick County, IN, entry # 364. lists Andrew Rhoads, age 38, born Indiana. That would further indicate that he was born in 181 2. However on that same census, entry # 293, his brother, Daniel Rhoads says that he is 38 and born Kentucky. These brothers were NOT twins. Also, his brother, ANDREW J. RHOADS, was born in 1812. This is the family line of Marilyn Rhoades Grefe and her twin sister, Carolyn Rhoades Eissler, who both have DAR memberships on this ANDREW J. RHOADS lineage from Capt. Henry Rhoads. Andrew Rhoads and Mahala Jones were married Feb. 3, 1833 in Warrick County, IN by Samuel Steele, J.P. (Book 1, page 390-Warrick Co., IN). Marilyn Rhoades Grefe, a descendant, states that Fonda Chapman Lawhead's grave Thornberg Cemetery, south of Boonville, IN as the place of the burial of Andrew J. Rhoads and Mahala Jones Rhoads. Opal Phillips, a genealogist of Warrick County, Indiana had supplied that information. However, Marilyn Grefe has been unable to locate tombstones there. In a document that I found in the basement of Warrick County Courthouse, Folder #486 there is a "Application for Letters of Administration". It states that Middleton R. Monday, being duly sworn before the Clerk of the Common Pleas "upon his oath says that ANDREW RHOADS departed this life in said County intestate, as he believes on the 12th day of November, 1872." I have a photocopy of this document. Also in Folder #486 is the Administrator's Bond and Oath, dated November 27 , 1872, naming Middleton R. Monday as Administrator and Travis G. Dailey, and Thos. J. Hudspeth. Also with this is the swearing by T. G . Dailey and Thos. J. Hudspeth that they are worth, over and above their indebtness, one thousand dollars. (Sally Hudspeth, daughter of a Thomas J. Hudspeth, was the wife of Daniel Rhoads the brother of Andrew Rhoads). Info provided by P.O. Inderrieden
