Bio
Sarah J. Fitting passed away Aug. 24 in Nevada City. She was 90. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 1 at Grace Bible Church in Cedar Ridge. Private interment will take place at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Nevada City. She was born March 15, 1919 in Wellsville, Mo., to William Douglas Haislip and Luella Dell (Boyles) Haislip. She attended school in Montgomery County, Mo. She married Joseph Ferdinand Fitting on June 19, 1939 in Denver, Colorado. She worked in hearing aid sales and service for 15 years. Her hobbies were painting and writing. She is survived by her sons Allan Fitting of Grass Valley and Bill Fitting of Nevada City; grandchildren Adam Fitting, Arin Urban, Cody Fitting and Jamie Fitting and great-grandchildren Michael Fitting, Nicholas Fitting, Alesia Urban, Alana Urban, Adam Urban and Anthony Urban. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Fitting.
