Son of: George Washington Baker and Sarah Ellen Garner. Husband of: Lassie Graves married Dec 7, 1914 Weatherford, Parker Co., Texas. Father of: Retha Irene Baker Lambright and Dorothy Baker Oden. Siblings: Calvin Green Baker, Flora Ann Baker Boyd, Elmo George Baker, and Nettie Bell Baker Stum. OBITUARY -- Avalanche-Journal, Lubbock, March 11, 1970 - "Service for Charlie Houston Baker, 75, will be held at 2 pm today in Sanders Memorial Chapel. Officiating will be the Rev. Claude Cone of Calvary Baptist Church, the Rev. John Ferguson of the Denver City First Baptist Church and Jerry Browning of the Colgate Church of Christ. Burial will be in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park. Baker died early Tuesday in Methodist hospital after being a patient there 12 days. He was born in Parker County and moved to Lubbock County in 1916, going to work for Augustiine Ranch. In 1929 he moved into Lubbock and went to work for SE Cone Grain and Seed Co, from which he retired several years ago.
